Our annual listing of skates, swims and more is brought to you by artspace children’s arts centre.
Keeping everyone active during the holidays is a great way to combat the inevitable excitement your kids will be feeling, the fatigue you’ll be fighting and the food you’ll all be eating. And the following events all have seasonal themes so no one need feel they’re missing out the holiday family-fun around Vancouver.
Check out our other holiday events lists for breakfast with Santa, trains, lights, and other ongoing events, crafts, storytimes, and activities, craft fairs and markets, celebrations, parades, festivals and parties, and santas at a mall near you.
Please double check any events before you head out to them, because sometimes events get changed or canceled and we’d hate for you to make a trip somewhere and find no event!

You can get some exercise and help a worthy cause this holiday season, as all process from this event go to the Salvation Army. So get some friends and family together and register at the city closest to you!
Burnaby Nature House Winter Walk and Christmas Open House

Come see what the Burnaby Lake Nature House has to offer. There will be a guided winter walk, followed by complimentary refreshments. Dress for the weather!
Jingle Bell Jog!
Sunday, December 4th, 8:30 am (1 km event) & 9:00 am (5 km event), Coquitlam Centre Mall, 2929 Barnet Highway, Coquitlam
Head out to the first annual Jingle Bell Jog, a family event in it’s first year that supports SHARE family & community services. There are to routes, a 5 km route and a 1 km route for younger kids. Tickets are $30 for the 5km and $20 for the 1 km, and include a t-shirt. Sign up online.
Cloverdale Winter Ice Palace

The Cloverdale Arena is transforming itself to look like an old fashioned frozen pond. Bring the family for a skate that reminds you of days gone by. Open all season, including Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
Skating Winter Wonderland

The arena in South Delta has been transformed into a Winter Wonderland. Come skate on an old fashioned ‘pond’ under some beautiful holiday lights.
Christmas Drop and Shop

If you’ve got last minute shopping to do, or kids who really just need to get out and move around, drop them at the pool for a drop and shop.
Holiday Mini Play Palace
Sunday, December 26th and Monday, December 27th, 11 am – 3 pm, Kerrisdale Community Centre, 5851 West Boulevard, Vancouver
Bring the kids to Play Palace where they can play off some of their holiday energy. There will be a variety of games, toys and gym equipment aimed at kids up to 7 years of age.
